The General Election Committee has approved the timetable for organizing the 2026 by-elections of the provincial, capital city, soum, and district citizens’ representative khurals. According to Article 9, Section 9.9 of the Law on Elections of the Province, Capital City, Soum, and District Citizens’ Representative Khurals, “By-elections and repeat elections of the Local Khurals shall be held on the third Sunday of June of each year in a unified manner throughout the country.” In line with this provision, the 2026 by-elections will take place on June 21, across all eligible local government councils.

The schedule for organizing the by-elections includes all procedures necessary to ensure a smooth and transparent election process, from candidate registration to polling and vote counting. Citizens are encouraged to review the timetable and participate actively in the electoral process.
