Separate grassfires that broke out in Zavkhan Province and Khentii Province have been successfully contained and fully extinguished, according to official reports.

The first grassfire occurred in Buyant bag, Otgon soum, Zavkhan Province. The fire started at 2:42 p.m. on April 21 and was brought under control by 5:00 p.m. the same day. Emergency response teams continued their efforts overnight, and the fire was completely extinguished at 11:00 a.m. on April 22.

A second grassfire was reported in the fifth bag of Delgerkhaan soum of Khentii Province, at 11:10 a.m. on April 22. Thanks to a rapid response, the blaze was contained within 37 minutes, at 11:47, and fully extinguished by afternoon.

Authorities have highlighted that dry conditions persist across much of the country, significantly increasing the risk of forest and steppe fires. In light of this heightened danger, the National Emergency Management Agency has issued a public warning, urging citizens to remain vigilant and adhere strictly to fire safety regulations to prevent further incidents.

Officials stress that even small acts of negligence can quickly escalate into large-scale fires under current conditions, underscoring the importance of collective responsibility in safeguarding both the environment and local communities.
