National Book Festival celebrates reading culture

The three-day National Book Festival 2025 took place from September 19 to 21, aiming to foster a culture of reading among children and young people, encourage lifelong reading habits, and promote positive engagement with books. The festival also served to support and highlight the work of authors, creators, active writers, publishers, and the broader book and printing industry.

Over 200 publishing houses and around 250 participants—including authors, translators, illustrators, original writers, and scholars—took part in the festival. International guests also joined the event, with authors and publishers from China, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Turkey contributing to its diverse program. Notably, approximately 70 percent of the festival’s offerings focused on children’s books, literature, educational and developmental games, knowledge-based creations, and comic series.

As a nationally recognized celebration, the book festival promotes activities related to reading, writing, translation, publishing, and distribution. It brings together everyone involved in the world of books, including writers, poets, editors, original authors, designers, publishing houses, bookstores, and book clubs.

The three-day festival concluded successfully on September 21, leaving participants and visitors inspired and reaffirming the importance of nurturing a vibrant literary culture in Mongolia.
