Ulaanbaatar City will temporarily stop traffic adjustments as the new school year begins, with odd-even license plate restrictions suspended on September 1. All vehicles will be allowed to participate in traffic in the capital city on those two days, regardless of whether their license plates are odd or even.
The temporary odd-even license plate regulation currently in effect in the capital will otherwise remain in place from August 15 through September 12. Under the measure, vehicles are divided according to whether their license plates end in an odd or even number, with restrictions applying between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
The arrangement was introduced as part of efforts to manage traffic congestion in the capital during a period of increased vehicle movement.
