The Investment Department of the Capital City has conducted performance inspections of ongoing pedestrian walkway and public space improvement projects across the capital in recent days.

17 locations in Ulaanbaatar are scheduled for pedestrian pathway renovation and landscaping, covering 170,529 square meters. Last year, improvement works were fully completed and put into operation at five locations, covering 47,819 square meters. This year, renovation works are being carried out at 12 locations, with a combined area of 122,710 square meters. As of most recently, upgrades covering 82,828 square meters have been completed, with overall progress reaching 68 percent.

The projects are being implemented along several major routes, including the area from the intersection near the Central Geological Laboratory to the Officers’ Palace roundabout, both sides of the road from the eastern end of the Yarmag Bridge to the APU intersection, and sections extending from the APU intersection to the Central Post Office intersection.

During the inspection, M.Govisaikhan, Head of the Investment Department of the Capital City, instructed contractor companies and responsible engineers to immediately address identified shortcomings and ensure that residents have access to a safer and healthier urban environment.
