Beijing attractions identified for Mongolian travelers

Representatives of the Mongolian Tourism Association have completed a research visit to Beijing, China, aimed at identifying new travel routes and experiences that could appeal to Mongolian tourists. Following the study, the association concluded that several destinations and attractions in the Chinese capital have strong potential to be incorporated into future tour packages.

Among the highlights identified were a historic water town that blends traditional Chinese architecture and cultural heritage with modern urban development, as well as one of the best-preserved sections of the Great Wall of China. The delegation also visited the renowned 798 Art District, widely regarded as one of Asia’s most influential contemporary art hubs, attracting artists, galleries, and visitors from around the world.

The proposed routes further include Beijing’s liquor museum and production facility, offering visitors insight into the history and craftsmanship behind one of China’s most iconic beverages. Other attractions include the venue that hosted rowing and canoeing competitions during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, along with the BAIC off-road vehicle manufacturing plant and driving experience center, which showcase China’s automotive industry and technological development.

The Mongolian Tourism Association stated that it is prepared to collaborate with tour operators interested in developing travel packages based on these newly identified routes. Association representatives noted that such itineraries could provide Mongolian travelers with a broader and more diverse experience of Beijing beyond its traditional tourist attractions. The delegation also highlighted Beijing’s cooperation with leading global travel platforms such as Booking.com, Tripadvisor, and Expedia to promote curated lists of must-visit destinations, local cuisine, and recommended souvenirs. According to the association, this approach represents a successful tourism marketing model that could be adapted and implemented in Mongolia.
