15 locations upgraded with natural stone tiles

The renovation of pedestrian sidewalks continues across 15 locations in Ulaanbaatar City, with the work being carried out using natural stone tiles. The Ulaanbaatar City Inspection Department is overseeing the project, ensuring that the renovation meets established standards and maintains safety for both pedestrians and workers.

The Head of the Ulaanbaatar City Inspection Department, S.Enkhbayar and relevant officials conducted an inspection at the first khoroo of the Chingeltei District, near the Mungun Zaviya area. The sidewalk renovation in this particular area is being carried out by Sant-Undur LLC, which is replacing the existing sidewalks with 600x300x400mm natural granite stone tiles in line with official standards. According to the site engineer of the company, the electric and communication cables will be rerouted underground during the work.

During the inspection, S.Enkhbayar emphasized the importance of safety measures in the construction zone. “Construction companies involved in sidewalk renovation must ensure proper lighting and install protective barriers around the worksite. Additionally, they need to place safety signs and markings to protect both the workers and pedestrians. It’s also crucial to prevent dirt or debris from being scattered onto the sidewalks and ensure safe conditions for pedestrians to pass through,” he stated.

The renovation of Ulaanbaatar’s sidewalks aims to improve accessibility and safety for the growing urban population, and these ongoing works are part of broader efforts to enhance the capital city’s infrastructure. However, the authorities stressed that construction companies must adhere to strict safety protocols to protect both workers and pedestrians during the project.

As these upgrades continue, Ulaanbaatar residents can expect safer, more durable pedestrian pathways throughout the capital city, contributing to the overall modernization of the capital’s infrastructure.
