The “Kharkhorum Bazaar” is taking place from August 11 to 20 outside of the Naadam Stadium, bringing together Mongolian cultural heritage, national products, handicrafts, culinary offerings, creative industries, and live entertainment in one vibrant open-air venue. Open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., the event is free and open to the public.

Held as part of the Kharkhorum Visual Art and Music Festival, the Kharkhorum Bazaar goes beyond the traditional concept of a fairtrade by creating an open urban cultural space where commerce, food, heritage, handicrafts, creative industries, and entertainment come together. More than 70 businesses and creative enterprises are attending, with the venue organized into four main zones: shopping, food and dining, experiences, and beverages. Visitors can explore products from national brands, purchase handicrafts and creative industry products, sample a variety of food and drinks, and enjoy a diverse range of cultural and artistic programs throughout the day.

The Experience Zone, one of the highlights of the Bazaar, will feature Mongolian artisans and craftspeople demonstrating their work on site and showcasing traditional techniques and the creative process behind their crafts. Visitors will have the opportunity to see traditional Mongolian arts such as blacksmithing, silverwork, felt-making, calligraphy, and painting up close, meet and talk directly with artisans, and experience the creative process firsthand.

Another highlight of the “Kharkhorum Bazaar” is its diverse daily stage program. On the opening day, the Tumen Ekh Ensemble will perform, followed by programs featuring YouTuber Tushig, Amaraa's Weekly Show, UB Quiz Night, a poetry evening, the open-air screening of “Shar Gegee”, a symphony orchestra performance of memorable Mongolian and international film music, and a KatyaZol fashion show, among other events designed to appeal to wide audience. In addition to the main stage program, traditional performances, live music, DJ sets, and circus performances will continue throughout the event, keeping the Bazaar lively and energetic from morning until evening.

As a result, “Kharkhorum Bazaar” will become a new open urban cultural space that brings together shopping, national brands, handicrafts, food, culture, arts, and entertainment, offering residents of Ulaanbaatar and international visitors a new way to experience Mongolia’s creative industries and cultural heritage in a contemporary setting.
