The Customs General Administration, in cooperation with intelligence and police authorities, has been conducting regular inspections to combat and prevent the illegal circulation of narcotic and psychotropic substances.

As part of these efforts, customs officers inspected a cargo shipment weighing 961 kilograms and consisting of 21 packages on September 28. The inspection uncovered 1.63 kilograms of methamphetamine, commonly known as “ice”, which had allegedly been concealed inside clothing and was being smuggled across the border.

The customs authorities took urgent measures and transferred the case to the relevant law enforcement agency for further investigation. The administration has urged individuals and businesses to carefully check the contents of cargo and freight shipments transported under another person’s name or as part of consolidated cargo to avoid becoming involved in drug-related crimes.
