The 2026 harvest is on track to wrap up within 26 to 30 days, the National Harvest Headquarters said in an update, with 951 combine harvesters, 609 swathers and 453 pieces of potato and vegetable equipment now deployed across the country.

As of September 25, a total of 580,400 hectares were cultivated nationwide this year, including 369,700 hectares of grains, 94,100 hectares of fodder crops, 90,400 hectares of oil crops, 13,400 hectares of vegetables and 12,800 hectares of potatoes. Preliminary projections put the total grain yield at 555,300 tonnes, alongside expected harvests of 168,200 tonnes of potatoes, 218,400 tonnes of vegetables, 201,800 tonnes of fodder crops and 50,400 tonnes of oil crops.

As of September 25, harvesting had been completed on 138,300 tonnes of grain from 85,300 hectares, 81,800 tonnes of potatoes from 6,700 hectares, 79,400 tonnes of vegetables from 5,500 hectares, 54,100 tonnes of fodder crops from 17,600 hectares and 3,100 tonnes of oil crops from 3,700 hectares. A further 24,600 hectares had been swathed.

Officials reported the harvested area is running well ahead of last year’s pace, up by 45.7 percent for wheat, 48.5 percent for potatoes, 25.5 percent for vegetables and 92.9 percent for fodder crops, though the area harvested for oil crops fell by 5,100 hectares.

Around 26,000 people are taking part in the operation, including 21,500 permanent staff, 393 temporary workers, 800 university students, 630 cadets from the National Defense University, 545 cadets from the University of Internal Affairs, 1,293 soldiers from 16 units under the General Staff of the Armed Forces, 159 officers from the Court Decision Enforcement Agency and 62 soldiers from the Border Protection Agency.

To keep machinery running, authorities signed a contract to secure a 2,300-tonne diesel reserve, of which 350 tonnes have been delivered and stockpiled, along with a separate contract for 1,000 tonnes of diesel at 4,960 MNT per liter. So far, 130 tonnes have been distributed to 83 grain, potato and vegetable growers. The headquarters said preparations are also under way to build reserves of 100,000 tonnes of wheat and 12,000 tonnes of potatoes and vegetables to help stabilise domestic supply.
