Young people have launched a positive-impact campaign to promote healthy screen use and encourage a culture of responsible digital consumption. As part of the campaign, an “ENOUGH” wall has been set up at Sukhbaatar Square and remained there through September 6. Organizers are encouraging the public to adopt four simple habits to develop healthier screen-use practices in their daily lives.
First, adults are encouraged to put away their phones when they are around children, as children often model the behavior of those around them. Second, families are encouraged to keep mealtimes screen-free, using the time to communicate and strengthen a warm family atmosphere.
Third, people are advised to avoid using their phones in bed, both in the morning and at night. Checking a phone immediately after waking up can affect productivity throughout the day, while using it before or during bedtime may increase the risk of sleep problems and ultimately affect quality of life.
The fourth recommendation is to avoid using phones while driving, as distracted driving can lead to traffic accidents, injuries and other serious consequences.
“ENOUGH is a movement aimed at promoting responsible screen use and a healthy digital culture,” a campaign organizer said. “The initiative will continue for a month. The word ‘enough’ represents our inner voice, the moment when we tell ourselves to stop when something becomes excessive.”
The organizers emphasized that reducing screen time does not have to happen all at once. Instead, they encourage people to make gradual changes and begin by incorporating the four recommended habits into their everyday lives.
