The government has reconvened the Development Partners Meeting after a 10-year break, holding the event under the theme “Together for Sustainable Growth and an Inclusive Future.” At the opening of the meeting, Minister of Finance Z.Mendsaikhan highlighted ongoing legal and institutional reforms aimed at improving the efficiency, coordination, and consistency of projects financed through the state budget, as well as foreign loans and development assistance.
He stressed the importance of strong collaboration between the government, development partners, and implementing agencies in maximizing the impact of development programs. In line with Mongolia’s national development priorities, the government presented a series of measures designed to enhance project efficiency, strengthen coordination and monitoring systems, and improve reporting, evaluation, and the overall legal framework governing externally funded initiatives.
Representatives from major international partners also shared their perspectives. Chandra Mohan Arora, Acting Resident Representative of the Asian Development Bank in Mongolia, and Taehyun Lee, Resident Representative of the World Bank in Mongolia, delivered presentations outlining current trends and future directions in development cooperation.
Discussions at the meeting centered on improving coordination with development partners, increasing the effectiveness of projects financed by foreign loans and aid, identifying key challenges, and exploring practical solutions to enhance outcomes.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening transparent, mutually accountable, and results-based cooperation with international development partners to ensure more effective use of external assistance and improved development impact.
