Authorities have successfully extinguished a wildfire that broke out on June 21 in Yalalt bag in Khalkhgol soum of Dornod Province. The fire, which affected an estimated 12,500 hectares of land, was fully contained by 5:40 a.m., the next day.

Meanwhile, firefighting teams are actively working to fully extinguish another forest and steppe fire in the Tosongiin-Am area of Tiireg bag in Tsagaannuur soum of Selenge Province. As of 8:00 a.m. on June 22, the blaze has been brought under control.

Efforts are also ongoing to contain wildfires that broke out on June 19 in Mandal soum of Selenge Province and Erdene soum of Tuv Province. The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) continues to coordinate response operations in these areas.

Given the ongoing heatwave affecting much of the country, NEMA is urging the public to remain alert and take extra precautions to prevent the outbreak of forest and steppe fires. With high temperatures expected to persist, the risk of wildfires remains elevated across many regions.
