MNCCI president resigns over leadership concerns

The Board of Directors of the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry convened on June 20 and voted to dismiss President L.Tur-Od, citing a lack of trust in his leadership. Former President of the Chamber B.Lkhagvajav was appointed as interim replacement.

Out of 75 board members, 55 expressed opposition to L.Tur-Od, largely due to his failure to appoint a CEO since taking office. Employees also formed a trade union in protest, declaring they would no longer cooperate with him.

The board had previously submitted a petition urging L.Tur-Od to resign voluntarily, but he refused. This marks the first time in the MNCCI’s history that a sitting president has been dismissed. L.Tur-Od was elected during the Extraordinary XXII General Assembly held on November 28, 2024.
