Strong regional business connections created

As part of the broader CAMCA Regional Conference, the CAMCA & ASEAN Business-to-Business (B2B) forum was held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on June 18. This dynamic event was co-organized by the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI), the Asia Small Business Federation, and Kazakhstan’s Biznetwork. Its purpose was to foster commercial linkages between Central Asia, Mongolia and Southeast Asia - regions with increasing economic interconnectivity and shared growth ambitions.

The event brought together 25 Mongolian enterprises from diverse sectors, including food and beverage, wool and cashmere, energy, information technology, and logistics. These businesses were provided with a valuable platform to introduce their products and services, identify new trade opportunities, and explore potential investment collaborations.

12 companies from six countries, including Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, joined the forum. Their representatives engaged in targeted B2B meetings with Mongolian businesses, holding in-depth discussions on export strategies, joint ventures, and technology transfer opportunities.

Participants from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan discussed deepening investment and technological cooperation. With Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan playing leading roles in Central Asia’s industrial development, Mongolian entrepreneurs explored potential co-investment initiatives in textile processing, livestock product value-addition, and joint branding strategies for regional exports. Notably, the Kazakhstan-based Biznetwork facilitated targeted B2B matchmaking to help create scalable and mutually beneficial partnerships, particularly among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The B2B event also emphasized the role of SMEs in regional economic integration. With support from the Asia Small Business Federation, discussions focused on improving access to finance, sharing market intelligence, and promoting responsible and sustainable business practices across borders. This cooperative momentum contributes to the broader CAMCA vision of building a more connected, competitive, and resilient regional economy - one in which Mongolia plays a pivotal role as a bridge between the landlocked economies of Central Asia and the globally connected markets of Southeast Asia.
