‘Let’s Read Together’ project gains momentum

Since 2021, The Asia Foundation has been implementing the “Let’s Read Together” project in Mongolia with the aim of promoting early childhood development, fostering a love for reading among young children, and increasing access to quality storybooks tailored for preschoolers. This year, the project received a significant boost as the Ministry of Education officially joined as a partner.

Minister of Education P.Naranbayar and the Asia Foundation’s Country Representative in Mongolia, Sara L. Taylor recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), formalizing their collaboration. Through this partnership, the two sides will work to integrate reading methodologies into the national preschool education curriculum, enhance the capacity of teachers, and provide instructional and methodological support. Moreover, the project seeks to raise awareness among parents and caregivers about the importance of reading for young children’s cognitive, emotional, and language development.

By combining the expertise of The Asia Foundation with government support, the initiative aims to create a more nurturing and literacy-rich environment for Mongolia’s youngest learners.
