‘Eduten’ system to work offline

The Ministry of Education has announced a significant update to the “Eduten” system, designed to provide an offline option to support primary school students, teachers, and parents. Initially developed by researchers at the University of Turku in Finland, “Eduten” is an AI-powered platform that utilizes game-based learning methods to teach mathematics. The platform was piloted nationwide during the 2022 to 2023 academic year and officially integrated into the curriculum for third and fourth graders in 2023 to 2024. This academic year, it has been expanded to include all primary school students.

However, the system’s reliance on an internet connection has limited equal access to the platform, particularly in rural areas. In response, the developers have initiated updates to enable the platform to function offline, ensuring more equitable access for students across the country.

The Director of International Cooperation of Eduten, Makke Leppanen and the Programmer Teemu Rajala are currently working in hi Mongolia to provide support for these updates. Their efforts include addressing technical challenges, such as enabling offline functionality, and helping teachers integrate international teaching methodologies into their practices, particularly in the field of mathematics. The updates aim to enhance the effectiveness of “Eduten” and broaden its accessibility, contributing to a more inclusive learning environment for students nationwide.
